Casey, married by Edmund Longley — matching the register report's date and officiant exactly. This early register left the age, birthplace and parents columns blank.

His second marriage, in the county's own marriage register — the full-form columns on this page were filled in. Washington County Court Register of Marriages, p. 502 (stitched view: names, ages and birthplaces beside parents, occupation and officiant): 8 Feb 1855 — “Wyatt, Pinkney Washington”, age about 26–28 (hard to read), widowed, born Wilkes County, North Carolina, parents “Barnet & Eleanor Wyatt”, a laborer; bride Margaret Martin (the register has "Harman"), 25, born Rockbridge County, Virginia, daughter of John & Sarah C. Martin; married by Edmund Longley. A second contemporary record naming Barnett and Eleanor as his parents, 24 years before the 1879 one, and it matches the register report's birthplace for him.

The 1850 census, Washington Co., VA (enumerated 5 Sep 1850): “Pinkney Wyatt,” 22, laborer, born Virginia — the page opens mid-household, so the dwelling number and head aren't on this sheet. Listed with him: Martha (19), Joseph Gilpin (28), James (10) and William (8); how they're related isn't stated. Martha could be his sister Martha Jane, who per the register married Samuel M. Loyd in December that year — a guess. The age fits his Abt. 1828 birth; the birthplace column disagrees with the Wilkes Co., NC of his 1855 marriage record. The Washington County Register of Births for the year ending 31 Dec 1857 (stitched across the page gutter), line 11: a girl born 19 October, father Pinkney W. Wyatt, mother Margaret Wyatt, informant "P. Wyatt," father. The child's name is hard to read (it looks like initials) and she isn't among the children in the register report — a possible fifth child of this couple. Register of Deaths, Washington Co., Virginia, 1896
His death in the Washington County Register of Deaths, First District (D. A. Duff, Commissioner of the Revenue), year ending 31 Dec 1896, line 19: “Wyatt, P. W.,” male, died June 15, in Washington Co., of consumption, age 65, a farmer, married; informant “Jas. Wyatt,” son — presumably his son James. (The page is scanned slightly skewed, so the right-hand columns sit about one line lower than the name they belong to: his occupation and status are the ditto marks beneath the Wedding entry's “Farmer” and “Married,” and “Jas. Wyatt, Son” is the informant on his line.) This confirms the register report's death date and place. The age is three years younger than the register's Abt. 1828 birth (and the 1850 census's 22) would give — 65 points to about 1831; ages given by the family at a death are often a few years off. Pinkney Washington Wyatt's 1879 marriage record
His own 1879 marriage record (to Mary Caroline Rector McCready, Washington Co., VA) names his parents as "Barnett & Elander Wyatt" — "Elander" reading as a period spelling of Eleanor. A direct, official, contemporary confirmation of his parentage, in his own hand's era rather than a later compilation. Full register page · FamilySearch citation.
Court records showed that Elizabeth left her husband two or three weeks after they married. Her father Jacob Palmer came from Jefferson Co. Tenn to get her and take her back with him.Ten years later it was proven that Elizabeth was living with a man as her husband in Jefferson Co, Tenn. And had five children by him. A divorce was granted to Pinkney Wyatt.
